Since the last quarter of 2019, the rumor mill has been spilling information on the Nokia 8.2 5G smartphone. It is believed to arrive as the cheapest 5G phone from HMD Global. Qualcomm had announced the Snapdragon 865 and Snapdragon 765 / 765G chipsets in December last year. Soon after it, Nokia confirmed that it will launch a new Nokia phone at Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2020 featuring the Snapdragon 765 chipset. The Nokia 8.2 5G specifications leak affirms that it is the upcoming 5G phone powered by SD765 SoC.
Nokia 8.2 Specifications (Rumored)
The new leak states that the Nokia 8.2 5G has a flat display and not curved as previous leaked had had claimed. It is not clear whether it has a pOLED screen or an LCD panel. The Snapdragon 765 powered device will have a side-facing fingerprint reader that will lack breathing notification light function. The phone will be driven by a 4,000mAh battery. There won’t be support for wireless charging on the Nokia 8.2 5G.
The Nokia 8.2 5G phone is expected to feature a 32-megapixel pop-up selfie camera. The rear shell of the phone will have a round-shaped camera module like the Nokia 7.2. Previous reports claimed that it has a 64-megapixel quad camera setup on its back.
Nokia 8.2 5G Pricing (Rumored)
The Nokia 8.2 5G is rumored to go official at MWC 2020. There won’t be a 4G variant of the phone. The Nokia 8.2 5G is expected to arrive in the markets with a pricing of 459 euros ($506) for the base model that features 6 GB RAM + 128 GB storage. There could be a limited version featuring 8 GB RAM + 128 GB / 256 GB storage. There is no word on its pricing.
