The Nokia 8 will be the first Android flagship phone from the company. In the recent past, the Nokia 8 had appeared in color variants like Blue, Steel (Silver) and Gold-Copper through leaked renders. Previous reports had claimed that the Nokia 8 would be debuting on July 31. However, the HMD Global has officially confirmed that the Nokia 8 flagship will be unwrapped on Aug. 16.
According to The Verge, the Finnish firm has begun sending media invites for an upcoming launch event on Aug. 16. It will not only be the first flagship phone running on Android by Nokia, but also it will be the first Nokia smartphone that will feature a Carl Zeiss optics. The Nokia 8 is speculated to come with a pair of 13-megapixel rear cameras.
As the rumor mill has revealed, the Nokia 8 would be coming with a 5.3-inch Quad HD display and it would be powered by Snapdragon 835 chipset. It is likely to be available in 4 GB and 6 GB RAM options. It is expected to feature a 64 GB internal storage and a microSD card slot.
HMD Global will be holding the Nokia 8 launch event at 7:30 PM local time on Aug. 16. The Nokia 2 that has appeared on Geekbench benchmarking site and Nokia 7 are the smartphones that the company is expected to debut in the near future.
