Rumors since the second quarter of the year have been claiming that HMD Global will be launching the successor of the Nokia 9 PureView smartphone in Q3 this year. Fresh information reveals that it could be called Nokia 9.1 PureView and its the arrival of the smartphone has been pushed to the last quarter of this year. Also, it is speculated to debut as the first Nokia phone with 5G connectivity onboard.
According to NokiaPowerUser, the Nokia 9.1 PureView will be Snapdragon 855 powered 5G smartphone which indicates that it could be equipped with X50 5G modem from Qualcomm. There is no information on the other specifications of the phone. The publication claims that HMD Global has delayed the arrival of the Nokia 9.1 PureView because it wants to optimize the major selling features of the phone. Even though the penta-lens setup of the Nokia 9 PureView is its best feature, it was criticized for its subpar image capturing capabilities. Also, the smartphone had also encountered issues with its in-display fingerprint scanner.
The publication has stated that Nokia and US Light camera technology company will be again partner on the Nokia 9.1 PureView to bring improvements to its video recording and low-light performance. The Nokia 9.1 PureView will come better camera speed thanks to improved exposure and software algorithm enhancements.
The Nokia 9.1 PureView is expected to deliver Android One experience of the latest Android Q OS. Also, it is speculated to come equipped with a punch-hole display design like the Nokia X71 smartphone.
