HMD Global has announced a new entry-level smartphone known as the Nokia G21 which will be succeeding last year’s Nokia G20 smartphone. This device comes with some minor upgrade to the front display, camera system, as well as battery capacity.
For starter, the Nokia G21 features a 6.5” IPS LCD display which offers a HD+ screen resolution as well as a smooth 90Hz refresh rate. Also, there’s an 8 megapixels front-facing camera that handles selfie and video calls on the device.
On the rear side, it sports a triple-cam system that’s housed within a rectangular camera module. These cameras include a 50 megapixels main camera, 2 megapixels macro camera, as well as a 2 megapixels depth sensor.
Under the hood, the Nokia G21 is powered by an octa-core Unisoc T606 chipset which is paired with 4GB RAM along with an option between 64GB or 128GB onboard storage which can still be expanded via a microSD card.
To keep it’s lights on, the Nokia G21 is backed by a respectable 5,050mAh battery with 18W fast-charging support, even though you only get a 10W charging adapter. The phone however, will be shipped with an older Android 11 out of the box, but will be receiving two major OS update and three years of security patches.
In the European markets, the Nokia G21 will be priced at €170 (US$193), and is available in two different colors such as Nordic Blue and Dusk.
