In 2021, Nokia unveiled a rugged smartphone called the Nokia XR20 5G. Recent reports have claimed that the brand is working on a successor edition for the device. According to a report by Winfuture.de, the successor model will be called the Nokia XR21 5G when it arrives on the market. The report also revealed the entire specifications of the smartphone.

According to the publication, the Nokia XR21 5G will be a ruggedized smartphone featuring an IP68-rated body. The front side of the device will be protected by Gorilla Glass Victus.
On the front, the device features a 6.49-inch FHD+ IPS LCD panel that offers a 120Hz refresh rate. It has a 16-megapixel front-facing camera. The rear camera setup of the phone features a 64-megapixel primary camera by OmniVision, and an 8-megapixel zoom camera with support for 8x digital zoom.
The Snapdragon 695 chipset will power the Nokia XR21 5G. It will arrive with 6 GB of LPDDR4x RAM, and a 4,800mAh battery that supports 33W rapid charging.
The phone will run on Android 12 OS. The report states that Nokia will provide Android OS upgrades until May 2026 and security patch updates until 2027. The device will arrive with 128 GB of native storage. It will also have a microSD card slot for more storage.
The NXR21 5G will arrive with other features like a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, 5G, dual SIM support, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, GPS, and a USB-C port. The handset will weigh around 235 grams. At present, there is no information on the price of the device. As can be seen in the leaked renders, the XR21 5G will arrive in black and green shades.
