Nothing Phone (2) appears on Geekbench, launch could be near

Reports have revealed that the upcoming Nothing Phone (2) has the A065 model number. The same model number has previously been spotted at India’s certification platform, the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS). Now, the Phone (2) has emerged on Geekbench to reveal its chipset and RAM.

A couple of weeks ago, a Qualcomm executive inadvertently revealed that the Nothing Phone (2) is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 chipset. The Geekbench listing of the device confirms that it will indeed feature the said chipset.

On Geekbench, the Nothing phone with the A065 model number has appeared with a Qualcomm chip that has the “taro” codename. The CPU details and GPU information available through the source code of the listing reveal that it could be powered by an underclocked version of the Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 chipset.

The listing also reveals that the device has Android 13 OS and 12 GB of RAM. In the single-core test, it scored 1253 points, and it recorded 3833 points in the multi-core test. It goes without saying that the Android 13 OS on the device will be overlaid with the company’s Nothing UI.

Previous reports have claimed that the Nothing Phone (2) will have a 6.7-inch AMOLED FHD+ 120Hz display with an in-screen fingerprint sensor. It will have LPDDR5x RAM, 256 GB of UFS 3.1 storage, and a 5,000mAh battery. Like the predecessor model, it will continue to feature the LED-enabled Glyph interface on the back and wireless charging support.

At present, there is no word on the launch date of the Nothing Phone (2). However, there is a possibility that it may break cover in the third quarter of this year.
