Nothing is said to be working on its next smartphone, and it is not the Nothing Phone 3. As per reports, the brand is reportedly working on a new mid-range phone called the Nothing Phone (2a), which bears the A142 model number. Some reports have claimed that the device may get showcased at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) tech exhibition, which is usually by the end of February each year. A new leak, courtesy of tipster DYOgesh Brar, has leaked the images and key specifications of the Phone (2a).
Nothing Phone (2a) design, specifications (rumored)
According to the tipster, the Nothing Phone (2a) will feature an OLED display with a punch-hole design. It is expected to support an FHD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate.
The device is expected to sport a new rear design. What is shown above are the leaked images of the late-stage PVT unit of the Phone (2a), which means it could be the final design. However, since the device is enclosed in a case, its rear design cannot be seen.
It appears that the rear panel of the Phone (2a) will have a round camera module housing two cameras and an LED flash. The device will also sport a redesigned Glyph interface. The leak claims that the Glyph controls of the device will be similar to those of the Nothing Phone (2).
The device is expected to ship with the Dimensity 7200 chipset, 8 GB of RAM, and 128 GB of built-in storage. It will run on Android 14, which will have a layer of Nothing OS 2.5 UI on top. The rear camera setup of the device will have a 50-megapixel primary camera.
