Nothing Phone (2a) moniker officially confirmed, launch imminent

Several reports have claimed that Nothing will unveil a new mid-range phone in the first quarter of 2024. Today, the company rolled out a press release to confirm that its next phone will be called the Nothing Phone (2a). Now that the brand has officially teased its arrival, it appears that the device will go official in the coming weeks.

Nothing has confirmed that the Nothing Phone (2a), codenamed Aerodactyl, will inherit some of the most loved features of the Phone (2). The company has also confirmed the launch of the Glyph Developer Kit, enabling third-party app developers on Android to control the Glyph Interface as per their requirements. Currently, the company has not revealed any details about the specifications of the device. Here is a look at what the rumor mill has revealed so far about it.

According to reports, the Nothing Phone (2a) will arrive with a 6.7-inch AMOLED display offering an FHD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. For selfies, it is said to feature a 16-megapixel front-facing camera.

The back panel of the device is expected to feature an OIS-enabled 50-megapixel main camera and an auxiliary lens. It will be accompanied by a redesigned Glyph interface.

It is unclear whether the Phone (2a) will have a Snapdragon or Dimensity chipset. However, it is expected to arrive in two options: 8 GB RAM + 128 GB storage and 12 GB RAM + 256 GB storage. The device is likely to pack a 4,920mAh battery with 45W fast charging. The device is expected to run on Nothing OS 2.5-based Android 14.
