Renowned tipster Digital Chat Station took to Weibo today to reveal Nubia is gearing up for the release of a new smartphone featuring the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset and an under-screen front-facing camera. Unfortunately, the tipster did not reveal the name of the device.
Based on recent reports, it seems the rumored device could be either the Red Magic 9 series or the Nubia Z60. Last year, the brand unveiled the Nubia Z50 in December 2022. Hence, there is a possibility that the tipster could be hinting at the arrival of the Z60.
A Nubia phone with model number NX769J featuring the upcoming Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset appeared in the database of the Geekbench benchmarking platform in August. It recorded a single-core score of 1596 points and a multi-core score of 5977 points. This device is said to be the Red Magic 9 gaming smartphone.
Additionally, two Nubia phones with model numbers NX721J and NX769J recently received Wi-Fi Alliance certification, confirming their compatibility with Android 13 and support for 2.4GHz and 5GHz frequency band Wi-Fi networks.
There is a possibility that the NX721J could be the rumored Nubia Z60 flagship phone. The same tipster revealed in August that Nubia is working on a smartphone with a 35mm camera and a 1-inch sensor. He even shared the above image to show the thickness of the round camera module against the existing Z50S Pro. The mysterious device could be the Nubai Z60. It is advisable to wait for further reports to know more about it.
