Apart from the unveiling of the slightly more affordable iPhone 13 and 13 Mini smartphones, Apple had also announced the most exciting flagship phone during the second-halve of the year – iPhone 13 Pro and 13 Pro Max during the same event.
The new generation’s iPhone 13 Pro and 13 Pro Max pack a ”ProMotion” Super Retina XDR OLED display that offers a sharp 1284 x 2778 pixels screen resolution, ultra-smooth 120Hz refresh rate, 1,200 nits peak brightness, as well as HDR10 and Dolby Vision support.
Just like the respective predecessors, the iPhone 13 Pro retains the same 6.1” display size, while the iPhone 13 Pro Max features the same 6.7” screen size upfront. The front-notches however, are now 20% smaller than the predecessors.
In terms of photography, the iPhone 13 Pro and 13 Pro Max sports a versatile triple-camera system on the rear side lead by a 12 megapixels (f/1.5 aperture) main camera with a large 1.9 micrometer pixel size and sensor-shift stabilization.
As for the other two cameras, they include a 12 megapixels (f/2.8 aperture) telephoto lens with 77mm focal length that offers 3x optical zoom, as well as a 12 megapixels (f/1.8 aperture) ultra-wide unit which doubles up as a macro camera for close-up shots. Selfie-wise, it’s handled by an identical 12 megapixels (f/2.2 aperture) front-facing camera.
At the helm, the iPhone 13 Pro and Pro Max are powered by Apple’s latest A15 Bionic chipset – just like the iPhone 13 and 13 Mini. According to Apple, the new silicon is touted as the speediest chipset among all the smartphones in the market, and is also boasted to be ”50% faster than the leading competition”.
The new Apple A15 Bionic chipset is based upon a hexa-core architecture comprising of a pair of high-performance CPU cores alongside a quadruple of high-efficiency cores. Apart from that, it also features a 16-cores Neural Engine to handle AI-intensive tasks, as well as a new ISP.
As usual, Apple didn’t reveal anything pertaining to the battery capacity of the iPhone 13 Pro and 13 Pro Max. Nonetheless, the company did noted that the new iPhone 13 Pro and 13 Pro Max will be blessed with an additional 1.5 hours and 2.5 hours battery life respectively, as compared to their predecessors.
Those who’re interested in the new iPhone 13 Pro and 13 Pro Max can pick up the phone from four different colorways including Graphite, Gold, Silver as well as Sierra Blue.
In Singapore, the iPhone 13 Pro is priced at S$1,649, S$1,819, S$2,149 and S$2,479 respectively for it’s 128GB, 256GB, 512GB, as well as 1TB variants. The iPhone 13 Pro Max on the other hand, will set you back by S$1,799, S$1,969, S$2,299 and S$2,629 respectively for it’s 128GB, 256GB, 512GB, as well as 1TB variants.
