After launching the Honor X8 5G smartphone last year, Honor is now back with a more affordable model dubbed as the Honor X8a in the global market. This model shares a largely similar design as the X8 5G, but cutback on certain aspects of the hardware.
For starter, the new Honor X8a builds around a 6.7” LTPS LCD display featuring a FHD+ screen resolution along with a fast 90Hz refresh rate. To help with selfies and video calls, the phone also has a 16 megapixels front-facing camera situated within a centered punch-hole cutout.
Over at the back, the Honor X8a retains a square-shaped camera island which houses a trio of cameras including a 100 megapixels main camera, 5 megapixels ultra-wide camera as well as a 2 megapixels macro unit for close-up photography.
Under the hood, the Honor X8a is powered by an octa-core MediaTek Helio G88 chipset which will be paired with 8GB RAM along with 128GB onboard storage in the memory department. Other than that, it also features a respectable 4,500mAh battery with 22.5W fast wired charging support.
Those who’re interested can pick the phone from three different colorways such as Cyan Lake, Titanium Silver and Midnight Black. It’ll be priced at just RM999 ($231) for the 8GB+128GB trim in the Malaysian market.
