The iQOO Neo6 featuring the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 was made official earlier this month in China. Today, the company released an official confirmation through Weibo that it will be holding a launch event at 19:30 PM (local time) on May 6. The event will also see the arrival of the iQOO Neo6 SE smartphone.
The iQOO Neo6 SE will be arriving as the successor to the Snapdragon 870 powered iQOO Neo5 SE, which went official in December 2021. While the company has started receiving the pre-orders of the device in China, it is yet to confirm its specifications.
Rumors surrounding the iQOO Neo6 SE have revealed that it will retain the Snapdragon 870 chipset. The device is likely to be backed by a 4,700mAh, which may carry support for 80W fast charging. It is expected to come preinstalled with the Android 12 OS and OriginOS Ocean UI.
The Neo6 SE is likely to feature a 6.62-inch AMOLED E4 display with a centrally positioned punch-hole. The screen may offer a Full HD+ resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate, and an in-screen fingerprint scanner. The other details of the smartphone are under wraps.
The predecessor model featured a 6.67-inch IPS LCD FHD+ panel that offered a 144Hz refresh rate. It featured a 16-megapixel front-facing camera and a 50-megapixel (main) + 8-megapixel (ultrawide) + 2-megapixel (macro) triple camera unit. The Snapdragon 870 powered phone offered up to 12 GB of LPDDR4x RAM and up to 256 GB of UFS 3.1 storage. It housed a 4,500mAh battery with 55W fast charging support. It also featured a side-facing fingerprint scanner.
