Motorola’s latest flagship, Edge 30 Ultra, is officially the first smartphone in the market to feature a 200 megapixels wide camera. The launch took place just a day after Apple’s high profile press event which saw the launch of the new iPhone 14 series smartphones.
Like most other flagship phones like the new Huawei Mate 40 Pro and Xiaomi 12S Ultra, the new Motorola Edge 30 Ultra is a camera-centric smartphone aimed at providing the best photography experience for it’s users.
The phone features a trio of cameras at the back which will be headlined by a 200MP wide-angle camera which utilizes the new Samsung ISOCELL HP1 imaging sensor with a large 1/1.22? sensor size and a relatively bright f/1.95 aperture. It also supports OIS stabilization for smooth recording of video footages.
This will be accompanied by a 50 megapixels (f/2.2 aperture) ultra-wide camera with 114-degrees Field-of-View, and a 12 megapixels telephoto camera that offers 2x optical zoom. Rounding out it’s imaging department will be another high-res 60 megapixels front-facing camera that handles selfies and video calls on the device.
Sitting at the heart of the phone is the latest Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset which will be paired with up to 12GB RAM and 512GB onboard storage in the memory department. To keep it’s lights on, the Edge 30 Ultra is also backed by a respectable 4,610mAh battery which carries support for 125W TurboPower wired charging and up to 50W wireless charging.
On the front side, the Edge 30 Ultra features a 6.67” pOLED display with FHD+ screen resolution along with a fast 144Hz refresh rate which makes scrolling and animation felt smoother on the display. Most importantly, it also supports an impressive peak bright of 1,250 nits to ensure the screen remains visible in an environment with strong ambient light.
