Following the success of last year’s Phone (1), London-based consumer tech brand Nothing is finally back with the next-generation’s Phone (2) in the global market which brings along several noteworthy upgrades including a faster chipset and better camera hardware.
On the outside, the new Phone (2) may may look pretty similar to last year’s Phone (1). However, it now features a slightly more rounded back which makes the phone more comfortable to grip and hold as compared to the squared-off corners on the Phone (1).
As for the Glyph interface, there isn’t any notable changes to it’s layout as well even though it now features an increased lighting zones which allow more granular effects. Most importantly, app developers are now able to leverage the light strips for their applications as the company has opened up the Glyph interface SDK and API to developers.
Upfront, the phone has a slightly large 6.7” LTPO OLED display with FHD+ screen resolution and a fast 120Hz refresh rate which makes scrolling and animation felt much smoother. It also gets a 32 megapixels front-facing camera to help with selfies and video calls.
Speaking of photography, it keeps the same camera count as last year’s Phone (1). The key difference here lies in the adoption of a new 50MP Sony IMX890 sensor for it’s main camera unit which also features OIS and EIS image stabilization. This will be rounded out by a 50 megapixels ultra-wide camera for landscape photography.
Under the hood, the Nothing Phone (2) is powered by a high-end Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset which will be paired up with up to 12GB RAM and 512GB onboard storage in the memory department. On top of that, it’s also equipped with a respectable 5,000mAh battery with 15W fast wired charging support.
For those who’re interested, the phone is available in two different color options such as White and Dark Gray. Pricing for the Nothing Phone (1) starts from S$999 for the 12GB+256GB trim and goes up to S$1,099 for the top-of-the-line model with 12GB+512GB configuration.
