At the end of June, ZTE’s sub-brand Nubia confirmed that it would announce its next Z-series flagship phone in July. Today, the company has confirmed its moniker and launch date.
As can be seen in the post, Nubia’s next flagship phone will be called the Nubia Z40S Pro, which indicates that it will be a more powerful version of the existing Nubia Z40 Pro, which debuted in the first half of 2022 with Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 onboard. The company will be holding a launch event at 2 PM on July 20 to announce the Z40S Pro.
The Chinese manufacturer has also confirmed a few details of the rear camera setup. It will include a 35mm Sony IMX787 main camera, a 50mm portrait lens, and a periscope telephoto camera. The upcoming ‘S’ monikered model could be an incremental upgrade over the Z40 Pro.
In all likelihood, the Z40S Pro will feature the Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 chipset. As the company has confirmed in the past, it will be sporting a flat display with super-thin bezels on all four sides. It is unclear whether the display has a centrally positioned punch-hole or an under-screen selfie camera.
