After launching the Realme 9i smartphone back in January this year, Realme has now announced a 5G version of the smartphone which packs a brand new design language along with some changes to it’s underlying hardware specs.
Starting with the front side of the phone, the new Realme 9i 5G sports the same 6.6” IPS LCD display as the 4G model, featuring a FHD+ screen resolution alongside a smooth 90Hz refresh rate. However, it’s front-facing camera has received a downgrade from 16 megapixels to 8 megapixels instead.
Speaking of cameras, the Realme 9i 5G also shares the same triple rear camera system as the 4G variant, meaning there will be a 50 megapixels main camera as well as a pair of 2 megapixels cameras for macro and depth information.
The main difference between the two devices actually lies in their underlying chipset whereby the new Realme 9i 5G gets a MediaTek Dimensity 810 chipset instead of Snapdragon 680. Likewise, charging speed on the 5G model had been reduced to just 18W even though it shares the same 5,000mAh battery under the hood.
For those who’re interested, the new Realme 9i 5G will be available in a trio of colors such as Soulful Blue, Rocking Black, and Metallica Gold. It’ll be priced starting at INR 14,999 ($188) for the 4GB+64GB model and goes up to INR 16,999 ($215) for the 6GB+128GB variant in the Indian market.
