Chinese smartphone giant Xiaomi has unveiled a pair of new entry-level smartphones dubbed as the Redmi A2 and A2+ in the global market. The two devices share largely similar specs, with the only exception being the presence of a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner on the A2+.
Starting with the front side of the phones, the new Redmi A2 and A2+ feature a 6.52” IPS LCD display with HD+ screen resolution and 60Hz refresh rate. To help with selfies and video calls, it also has a 5 megapixels front-facing camera that sits within a waterdrop-notch.
Over at the back, the phones also have a dual-cam system comprising of an 8 megapixels main camera along with a QVGA auxiliary unit. This will be supplemented by a LED flash that will come in handy when taking low-light photography.
Under the hood, the Redmi A2 and A2+ are powered by an octa-core MediaTek Helio G36 chipset which will be paired withy up to 3GB RAM and 32GB onboard storage that can be further expanded via a microSD card. Other than that, the phones are also equipped with a respectable 5,000mAh battery with 10W wired charging support.
For those who’re interested, the Redmi A2 and A2+ are available in three different colors such as light blue, light green, and black. Pricing and availability of the phones however are yet to be announced by the company.
