Vivo has officially announced a new Y series smartphone dubbed as the Vivo Y55s 5G in the global market. Just in case you’re wondering, this is a completely different model from the Y55s 5G that was launched in the Chinese market last month.
For starter, the Vivo Y55s 5G builds around a 6.58” IPS LCD display featuring a FHD+ screen resolution along with 60Hz refresh rate. To help with selfies and video calls, the phone also has an 8 megapixels front-facing camera that sits within a waterdrop-notch.
Over on the rear side, the Vivo Y55s 5G sports a square-shaped camera module which houses a trio of cameras including a 50 megapixels main camera along with a pair of 2 megapixels cameras for macro and depth information. It’s also furnished in two different paintjobs such as Star Black and Galaxy Blue.
Under the hood, the phone is powered by an octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 700 chipset which will be paired with up to 6GB RAM and 128GB onboard storage that can be further expanded via a microSD card.
Keeping it’s lights is none other than a respectable 5,000mAh battery with 18W fast-charging support. Other than that, the Vivo Y55s 5G will also be shipped with FuntouchOS 12 based on Android 12 OS out of the box.
For those who’re interested, the Vivo Y55s 5G is priced at NTD 7,990 ($263) for the 4GB+128GB trim and NTD 8,490 ($280) for the top-of-the-line model with 6GB+128GB configuration.
