Last month, OnePlus announced the OnePlus 8 series of flagship smartphones. The OnePlus 8 Pro is the first phone ever from the company to arrive with support for fast wireless charging. This shows that the Chinese brand is working on improving charging times on its smartphones. A fresh leak by a reliable Chinese tipster states that OnePlus is working on a 65W fast charger.
The tipster has carried a snapshot in his Weibo that reveals that the 65W fast charger of OnePlus has been certified. As it can be seen, the charger supports a maximum output of 10VDC / 6.5A Max. Since OnePlus and OPPO belongs to the same BBK Electronics company of China, it is likely that the 65W charger could be almost the same 65W charger that OPPO offers with some of its flagship phones.
OPPO’s phones that come with 65W fast charge feature dual-part batteries. Hence, there is a possibility that the forthcoming OnePlus phones that will support 65W rapid charger may also come with dual-part batteries. It remains to be seen whether the OnePlus 8T series that is speculated to debut in the second of the year arrives with support for 65W fast charging.
While OnePlus is making the OnePlus 8 series available in wider markets, it also working on the mid-range OnePlus Z phone. It was previously speculated to feature MediaTek 1000L chipset, but a recent leak revealed that it could be coming with Snapdragon 765G processor onboard.
OnePlus is yet to confirm on the existence of the OnePlus Z phone. It is speculated that it may break cover in July.
