In November, reliable tipster Steve Hemmerstoffer shared the CAD renders of the upcoming OnePlus 9 Pro 5G smartphone. The live shots of the OnePlus 9 5G were spotted in December. The CAD renders and live images suggested that the OnePlus 9 and 9 Pro do not feature a periscope telephoto lens. Now, a tweet by well-known leakster Max Jambor has corroborated that the OnePlus 9 series lack a periscope lens.
While the OnePlus 9 series is unlikely to feature a periscope telephoto sensor, it is expected to deliver an improved photography experience. Earlier this month, OnePlus co-founder and CEO Pete Lau had claimed that the company’s research and development efforts will focus on improving the camera experience on the upcoming OnePlus phones.
OnePlus 9 and OnePlus 9 Pro Specifications (Rumored)
Rumors are rife that the OnePlus 9 series will include as many as three devices. The starting model could be called OnePlus 9 Lite and it may feature the Snapdragon 870 / 865 chipset. The OnePlus 9 and OnePlus 9 Pro will feature the more advanced Snapdragon 888 SoC.
The OnePlus 9 is expected to come with a 6.55-inch AMOLED display. The flat screen with punch-hole design may deliver a Full HD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. The OnePlus 9 Pro could be blessed with a bigger 6.78-inch AMOLED screen with curved edges. The punch-hole display may produce a Quad HD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate.
The OnePlus 9 and 9 Pro could be equipped with 4,500mAh batteries and they are expected to carry support for wireless charging. Both models weigh less than 200 grams and have a thickness of around 8mm. Rumors surrounding the OnePlus 9 series have claimed that it may go official by mid-March. The Chinese manufacturer is rumored to launch the OnePlus Watch alongside the OnePlus 9 series.
