It was reported in October that OnePlus may launch the OnePlus 9 series earlier in 2021. Codenamed as Lemonade, the OnePlus 9 and OnePlus 9 Pro phones are speculated to break cover by mid-March. Fresh information reveals that the lineup will include a third device named the OnePlus 9E.
According to reliable tipster Max J, the OnePlus 9 series will have handsets namely, the OnePlus 9, the OnePlus 9 Pro, and the OnePlus 9E. There is a possibility that it could be the most affordable handset in the OnePlus 9 family. However, the tipster is unclear whether the OnePlus 9E will be positioned higher or lower than the OnePlus 9.
The tipster added that OnePlus is trying to offer its products at different price ranges like Samsung. For the entry-level and mid-range market, OnePlus is selling the Nord N branded smartphones. The OnePlus Nord is for the upper mid-range market and its main series caters to the flagship market.
At present, there is no information available on the specifications of the OnePlus 9E. Since it is a member of the OnePlus 9 family, it is likely that it could be driven by the Snapdragon 875. There is a possibility that the OnePlus 9E may sell as the cheapest smartphone powered by the Snapdragon 875.
The rumor mill is yet to spill detailed information on the specs of the OnePlus 9 and OnePlus 9 Pro handsets. However, both smartphones have been spotted at the Geekbench benchmarking platform with the Snapdragon 875 SoC, 8 GB of RAM, and Android 10 OS.
The CAD renders of the OnePlus 9 and OnePlus 9 Pro that has surfaced in the recent past have revealed that they will be sporting punch-hole displays. The OnePlus 9 Pro could be coming with a 6.7-inch screen with curved edges and quad rear cameras. The OnePlus 9 could be coming with a flat display and triple rear cameras.
