OnePlus will be announcing the highly anticipated OnePlus Nord mid-range 5G phone on July 21. Ahead of the launch, the Chinese manufacturer has been building hype around the device. Today, the company confirmed the configurations of the front and rear cameras of the OnePlus Nord 5G phone.
Simon Liu who is the Imaging Director in the camera team assigned for the OnePlus Nord 5G. He claimed that after pondering for around several months, the company finally decided to offer users with six cameras on the OnePlus Nord 5G. It will be the first ever OnePlus phone to arrive with two front-facing cameras. The other four lenses are fitted on the backside of the smartphone.
He revealed that the OnePlus Nord 5G has a primary selfie camera of 32-megapixel. It is coupled with an 8-megapixel ultrawide lens with 105-degree field-of-view.
The two cameras are made available through a pill-shaped camera cutout placed at the upper-left corner of the screen. The front cameras will have AI algorithm kicking in for capturing better selfies in low-light conditions.
The OnePlus Nord’s rear-mounted quad camera setup include an f/1.75 aperture Sony IMX586 48-megapixel primary lens with OIS support. It is coupled with an ultrawide lens of 8-megapixel, a 5-megapixel depth sensor and a macro shooter. Liu said that the company has readied a range of software enhancements for refining its image processing in different scenarios.
The OnePlus Nord is expected to arrive with a pricing lower than $500. It will be powered by Snapdragon 765G chipset. It is not clear whether it features an AMOLED or LCD panel. What is known is that it will carry support for 90Hz refresh rate. The handset is expected to arrive in at least blue and grey colors. The handset will lack the good old 3.5mm audio jack to reduce the thickness of the device and offer more internal space for other components.
