OnePlus Open reportedly delayed, find out why

OPPO is expected to announce the OPPO Find N3 this month in some markets, including China. In other markets, the company is likely to release a rebranded version dubbed the OnePlus Open. A recent report claimed that the OnePlus Open would be announced on Aug. 29. However, a tweet from reliable OnePlus leaker Max Jambor reveals that the Open’s arrival has been delayed a bit.

According to the tipster, the launch of the OnePlus Open has been slightly delayed. However, the delay is considered beneficial since the device was supposed to feature a BOE-supplied screen, which apparently did not meet expectations. Instead, the company has opted for new panels from Samsung, which should potentially improve the device’s performance and display quality.

With the OnePlus Open’s arrival being delayed, it appears that the company’s first foldable phone may debut at some point in September. Here is a look at what to expect from the specs of the device.

OnePlus Open specifications (rumored)

The OnePlus Open is rumored to have a 6.3-inch AMOLED FHD+ 120Hz cover screen and a foldable 7.8-inch AMOLED display with Quad HD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. Running on Android 13 with OxygenOS Fold, the OnePlus Open might include a side-facing fingerprint scanner.

It is likely to be powered by the 3.36GHz Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC paired with 16 GB of RAM. The phone is anticipated to have a 4,805mAh battery supporting 67W fast charging and 50W wireless charging. It is expected to offer up to 512GB of UFS 4.0 storage.

Its rear camera setup is said to consist of a 48-megapixel primary sensor, an ultra-wide snapper, and a 64-megapixel telephoto camera. For selfies and video calls, the device is expected to feature a 20-megapixel internal camera and a 32-megapixel front-facing camera.
