OnePlus to Choose 10 volunteers to Review OnePlus 8 Before Launch

A community manager in the OnePlus forums posted, “the new flagship is on the way” and it will be recruiting 10 volunteers to use the OnePlus 8 (or Pro) before it is made official. The Chinese firm will be announcing the OnePlus 8 series in April. Some reports have claimed that it will be announced on April 15, but there is no official confirmation on it yet.

Coming to what OnePlus revealed on its forums, the 10 volunteers who will be allowed to use its next flagship will be asked to review and keep the device. If the review doesn’t meet the requirement of the company, it will ask the volunteers to return the phone. The approved reviews will be published after the OnePlus 8 series goes official.

The volunteers will also get a chance to participate in “Ask Me Anything” sessions three weeks after using the handset. People who would like to become a volunteer can sign up until the evening of April 1. The company confirmed that 6 out of 10 chosen people will be from its forum members.

OnePlus will also consider other aspects like writing, photography and videography skills of the volunteers. The selected participants will be revealed on April 2 and then it will send out the review units to them.

Rumors surrounding the OnePlus 8 series have revealed that it includes three devices such as OnePlus 8, OnePlus 8 Pro and OnePlus 8 Lite. The first two devices that are powered by Snapdragon 865 mobile platform are expected to go official next month. The OnePlus 8 Lite is rumored to be fueled by the Dimensity 1000. It may debut in July.
