OPPO A53 5G launched with Dimensity 720 SoC & 16MP triple cameras

OPPO has officially announced yet another budget-centric 5G smartphone in the Chinese market known as the OPPO A53 5G. It is currently one of the most affordable 5G device which will go against the likes of the Realme V-series and the recently announced Redmi Note 9 5G in the Chinese market.

The OPPO A53 5G is built around a 6.5-inches LTPS LCD display that offers a decent FHD+ screen resolution coupled with a smooth 90Hz screen refresh rate. On top of that, it has also achieved an impressive screen-to-body ratio of 90.5%.

Under the hood, the device is powered by an octa-core Dimensity 720 chipset capable of supporting 5G connectivity in both standalone (SA) and non-standalone (NSA) modes. It’ll be paired with up to 4GB RAM and 128GB onboard storage in the memory department.

For photography, the OPPO A53 5G relies on a triple camera system at the back consisting of a 16 megapixels primary shooter, 2 megapixels macro camera, as well as a 2 megapixels portrait lens. This will be accompanied by an 8 megapixels selfie camera at the front.

Keeping its lights on will be a respectable 4,040mAh battery with 10W standard charging support. Most will be glad to know that the device do have a 3.5mm headphone jack as well. With regards to its software, the device will boot on the ColorOS 7.2 based on Android 10.

In the Chinese market, the OPPO A53 5G comes with a starting price of 1,298 Yuan (US$198) for its 4GB+128GB model.
