After launching the OPPO A95 4G (Review) smartphone in the local market in January, OPPO is now back with a brand new model known as the OPPO A96 4G that comes with some minor redesign as well as an upgraded chipset for a seamless mobile experience.
The new OPPO A96 4G builds around a 6.59” IPS LCD display which offers a HD+ screen resolution and 60Hz refresh rate. On top of that, it also features a 16 megapixels front-facing camera to help with selfies and video calls.
Over the rear side, the phone has a rectangular camera island which houses a pair of cameras including a 50 megapixels main camera as well as a 2 megapixels depth sensor for portraits. This will be aided by a LED flash for low-light photography.
Under the hood, the OPPO A96 4G is powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 680 chipset which is a decent upgrade over the Snapdragon 662 used in the OPPO A95 4G. This will be supplemented by 8GB RAM and 256GB onboard storage which can be further expanded via a microSD card.
To keep it’s lights on, the phone will be backed by a respectable 5,000mAh battery which carries support for 33W fast-charging. Software-wise, we can expect it to boot with ColorOS 11.1 based on Android 11 OS out of the box.
For those who’re interested, the OPPO A96 4G is available in both Starry Black and Sunset Blue color options. In Singapore, the OPPO A96 4G is available in a single 8GB+256GB configuration which is priced at just S$426.
