Reports suggest that OPPO is developing a new smartphone named the OPPO A98 5G with the model number CPH2529. It has been spotted on various certification sites in recent leaks. It is likely to be launched in several markets in Europe and Asia. Publication Appuals has leaked the specifications of the A98. In addition, it has also released a render to reveal its front design.

The Oppo A98 5G is rumored to feature a 6.7-inch LTPS LCD panel with a 1080 x 2400 pixels resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate, a 20:9 aspect ratio, and 391ppi pixel density. The display punch-hole houses a 32-megapixel selfie camera. On the back, it will feature a camera setup consisting of a 64-megapixel primary camera, a 2-megapixel depth sensor, and a 2-megapixel macro camera.
The A98 will be powered by a Snapdragon 695 chipset and 8 GB of LPDDR4x. It will offer 256 GB of internal storage and a 5,000mAh battery that supports 67W fast charging via USB-C.
The A98 will also come equipped with dual SIM, 5G, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 5.1, GPS, and a microSD card slot. The phone will run on Android 13 with a layer of ColorOS 13. It will arrive with a side-facing fingerprint scanner. It will measure 165.6 x 76.1 x 8.2mm and weigh approximately 192 grams.
Earlier this month, OPPO unveiled the OPPO A1 5G in China. It appears that the said device will be rebranded as the A98 in the global market. At present, there is no information on the price of the A98.
