Oppo Find N5 thin profile teased, Snapdragon 8 Elite chip, IPX9 rating revealed

In February, Oppo will hold a launch event in China to announce the Find N5 foldable phone and the Watch X2 smartwatch. Oppo Find Product Manager, Zhau Yibao, has been consistently revealing details about the Find N5 through this Weibo handle. His recent Weibo posts compare the thickness of the device with that of the iPhone 16 Pro. At the same time, the brand has released a video to confirm its IP rating. Additionally, a Geekbench listing of the device has revealed its chipset, RAM, and Android version.

Recent teasers released by Oppo suggest that the Find N5 will measure around 4mm+ and 9mm in the unfolded and folded states, respectively. In the above images, the N5 is compared with the iPhone 16 Pro, which has a thickness of 8.3mm. When folded, the N5 will be slightly thicker than the iPhone 16 Pro.

The above video released by the brand shows that the Find N5 will be the world’s first foldable phone to arrive with IPX6, IPX8, and IPX9 ratings. It also confirms that the device will have support for underwater photography.

Reports have revealed that the N5 will arrive in two versions in China. The first will be a regular version bearing the PKH110 model number, and the second will have the PKH120 model number and have support for satellite connectivity.

As can be seen, the Oppo Find N5’s PKH110 variant has emerged in Geekbench’s database. It reveals that the phone is powered by the 7-core version of the Snapdragon 8 Elite. This new chip lacks one core as compared to the regular 8-core version of the chip. The performance of the chip may not significantly differ during regular usage. However, there may be a noticeable difference in performance during intensive tasks such as gaming. Returning to the Geekbench listing, we find that the device boasts 16 GB of RAM and runs Android 15. Other reports have revealed that it will pack a 5,700mAh battery with 80W wired and 50W wireless charging.
