Oppo Find X8 series is in the works for the Chinese market. Today, tipster Digital Chat Station shared key information about the camera setup of the Find X8 Ultra. Here is a look at what the leak revealed.
DCS has revealed that the upcoming Find X8 Ultra will feature four 50-megapixel rear cameras. Similar to the Find X7 Ultra, which made its announcement in China in January of this year, the camera setup of the X8 Ultra will feature a pair of dual periscope telephoto lenses.
He also stated that the prototype of the Find X8 Ultra aims to exceed the optical zoom capabilities of a 200-megapixel periscope lens. This implies that the X8 Ultra could potentially outperform the Vivo X100 Ultra, which boasts a 200-megapixel periscope telephoto camera, in optical zoom performance.
Additionally, DCS clarified that the Find X8 Ultra’s camera configuration will not include the Sony IMX858 sensor. For context, the Find X7 Ultra has a 50-megapixel IMX858 lens with 6x optical zoom. The leaker did not reveal which camera sensor will replace the IMX858 on the X8 Ultra.
The dual periscope telephoto solution of the Find X7 Ultra also includes a 50-megapixel IMX890 lens with 3x optical zoom. It appears that the Find X8 Ultra might inherit the aforementioned camera sensor. According to reports, the Ultra model will have the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chip onboard, and it may debut in the first quarter of 2025. On the other hand, the Dimensity 9400-powered Find X8 may launch in October this year.
The Find X7 series has remained exclusive to the Chinese market. It remains to be seen whether the Find X8 series debuts in other markets across the globe.
