In February, Oppo will unveil the Find N5 foldable phone and the Oppo Watch X2 smartwatch. It is speculated that the brand will take off covers from the Find X8 Mini and the Find X8 Ultra. Previous reports claimed that the Ultra model will be equipped with the same display that’s available on the OnePlus 13. This means the Ultra model will sport a micro-quad-curved display. However, new reports suggest that the company has decided to use a completely flat screen on the device.

It appears that Oppo is moving away from curved displays in favor of flat ones for its other flagship phones. While the Find X8 Mini was already expected to feature a 6.3-inch flat display, the Find X8S, which is expected to launch in Q2 this year, may also house a flat screen.
DCS also claimed that the usage of flat screens on “Ultra” branded flagships is still relatively rare in the market. Most competitors are still focusing on offering micro-quad-curved displays, which means that the Vivo X200 Ultra and the Xiaomi 15 Ultra may continue to sport this display design.
The Find X8 Ultra will feature the Snapdragon 8 Elite. Competition phones, such as the X200 Ultra and 15 Ultra, will also pack the same chip. What sets the X8 Ultra apart is that it will have a dual periscope camera setup for a top-notch photography experience.
