Yesterday, tipster Digital Chat Station shared the camera details of the upcoming Oppo Find X8 Ultra. He also asserted that the device will not feature the Sony IMX858 periscope camera, which was previously available on the Find X7 Ultra. In a Weibo post released today, DCS has seemingly revealed the periscope camera that will be replacing the IMX858 on the X8 Ultra.
Oppo Find X8 Ultra’s new periscope camera (rumored)
The new leak suggests that the Find X8 Ultra could be equipped with a customized IMX882 periscope lens. This periscope lens, with its 50-megapixel resolution and large 1/1.95″ sensor size, promises exceptional image quality and enhanced zoom capabilities. With a pixel size of 0.8?m, it suggests improved low-light performance. Combined with Oppo’s renowned imaging technology, the Find X8 Ultra is likely to deliver stunning photography experiences.
Readers should keep in mind that DCS has not mentioned the phone’s name in relation to the leak. Therefore, it is advisable to approach the leak cautiously.
According to DCS’ previous leak, the rear camera setup of the X8 Ultra will have four 50-megapixel cameras. It will continue to offer dual periscope telephoto camera lenses, similar to the X7 Ultra. He claimed that the replacement for the IMX858 will offer superior optical zoom capabilities, which may even exceed the performance of the 200-megapixel periscope camera available on the Vivo X100 Ultra.
The Find X8 Ultra, equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4, is expected to debut in Q1 2025. In October of this year, the brand may unveil the Dimensity 9400-powered Find X8.
