Oppo unveiled the Find X7 Ultra with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip onboard in January of this year. Hence, it is speculated that the Find X8 Ultra, featuring the next-generation Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 will be announced in January 2025. Today, the Oppo Find series product manager, Zhou Yibao released a video through his Weibo account. In the video, he can be seen talking with one of the structural engineers who is working on the Find X8 Ultra.
Oppo Find X8 Ultra first details
The video reveals that the Find X8 Ultra will be slimmer than its predecessor, the X7 Ultra, which measures 9.5mm in thickness. There will be a reduction in the camera bulge on the back.
Despite having a thinner body, the device will pack a larger battery, which will be bigger than 5,000 mAh. However, the battery capacity will not exceed 6,000mAh. To recall, the X7 Ultra packs a 5,000mAh battery.
Like the Find X7 Ultra, the successor model will have an IP68-rated dustproof and water-resistant chassis. In addition, the device will have a glass back, probably with an AG matte finish. There is no clarity as to whether the device will have leather like the X7 Ultra.
According to other reports, the Find X8 Ultra will have a quad-curved OLED panel that offers a 2K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. It will have an ultrasonic on-screen fingerprint reader for security.
There will be four 50-megapixel cameras on the rear panel of the X8 Ultra. While the predecessor remodel featured an IMX858 camera, this sensor is unlikely to be available on the X8 Ultra. However, it will continue with dual periscope telephoto cameras.
