Initial reports surrounding the Find X9 series suggested that Oppo could be planning to launch a compact flagship equipped with a 6.3-inch display in September. However, a new Weibo post from reliable tipster Digital Chat Station reveals that the arrival of the device has been delayed, and it is now speculated to launch next year.
Oppo Find X9s key details tipped
According to DCS, the development of Oppo’s 6.3-inch compact flagship is progressing slowly. It is now highly likely that it will launch next year alongside the Oppo Find X9 Ultra. To recall, while the Find X8 and X8 Pro debuted in October this year, the Find X8s (compact flagship), Find X8s+, and Find X8 Ultra were unveiled in April this year.
The tipster added that the current prototype of the alleged Find X9s is being tested on the Dimensity 9500 platform and features a triple 50-megapixel camera setup, which includes a periscope telephoto lens. Notably, the engineering unit is also equipped with a 3D ultrasonic fingerprint scanner.
While the official moniker of the device is not known yet, it is expected to succeed the Find X8s. To recall, the X8s features a 6.32-inch AMOLED panel that offers a 1.5K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. Under the hood, the device is equipped with the Dimensity 9400 Plus chipset, up to 16GB of RAM, up to 1TB of storage, and a 5,700mAh battery with 80W wired and 50W wireless charging.
The Find X8s has a 32-megapixel front-facing camera for selfies and video calls. On the back, it includes a 50-megapixel main camera with OIS support, a 50-megapixel ultra-wide lens, and a 50-megapixel periscope telephoto camera with 3.5x optical zoom and OIS support.
