In July, Qualcomm announced the Snapdragon 865 Plus as a faster version of the Snapdragon 865 that powered most Android flagship phones this year. The SD865+ has been used in less phones such as Samsung Galaxy Note 20, Note 20 Ultra, Galaxy Z Flip 5G, Lenovo Legion Pro / Duel, and ASUS ROG Phone 3, and ZenFone 7 Pro. Fresh information reveals Qualcomm is also preparing a custom version of the Snapdragon 865 and it could be called the Snapdragon 870, and it could be exclusively available on an OPPO phone.
According to a reliable tipster from China, OPPO is testing a high-frequency version of the Snapdragon 865. This chipset will be exclusively available for OPPO and its main frequency is around 3.2GHz. Theoretically, the performance of the chip is stronger than the Snapdragon 865. Hence, it could be called Snapdragon 870.
Qualcomm will be announcing the Snapdragon 875 mobile platform on Dec 1. The SD870 is expected to offer slower performance than the SD875 chip. It is unclear when OPPO will be announcing the SD870 powered phone.
