The OPPO A72 5G phone that debuted last month was the first phone to arrive with Dimensity 720 5G chipset. MediaTek has recently announced the new MediaTek Dimensity 800U 5G-capable chipset. A leakster has claimed that an upcoming OPPO smartphone will be the first phone powered by the Dimensity 800U SoC. Probably, the OPPO PEAM00 and PEAT00 phone that was recently approved by the TENAA authority recently.
According to the tipster, OPPO will be soon launching the tipster the first Dimensity 800U powered smartphone. He revealed that the mysterious OPPO phone has an OLED panel with a punch-hole design. It has a 4,300mAh battery with support for 65W fast charging. These specs match with the OPPO PEAM00 / PEAT00 phone found in TENAA’s database. In the other post, he has said that it is an OPPO Reno4 series phone and it may debut by the end of August or in early next month.
The OPPO PEAM00 / PEAT00 phone measures 160.5 x 73.9 x 7.85mm and it weighs 169 grams. The handset is equipped with a 6.43-inch AMOLED display with a punch-hole design. The screen supports full HD+ resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels and a 20:9 aspect ratio.
The handset has a dual-cell battery with rated size of one of its batteries mentioned as 2,200mAh. The 3C certification of the phone has revealed that it may ship with a 65W fast charger.
According to the TENAA listing, the PEAM00 / PEATM00 smartphone is powered by a 2.0GHz octa-core processor. The Density 800U features six Cortex-A55 CPU cores clocking at 2.0GHz and two Cortex-A76 CPU cores working at 2.4GHz. Hence, it appears that the PEAM00 / PEAT00 could be the first Dimensity 800U handset.
The device has 8 GB of RAM and internal storage of 256 GB. A microSD card slot is not available on the phone. It will come preinstalled with Android 10 OS.
It has a 32-megapixel front-facing camera. The backside of the phone has a square-shaped camera module housing a 48-megapixel + 8-megapixel + 2-megapixel triple camera system. Lastly, the handset is equipped with an in-screen fingerprint reader.
