OPPO has finally dipped it’s feet into the foldable smartphone market with the launch of the brand new OPPO Find N that comes with an intuitive form factor as well as a more affordable launch price than it’s competitors.
Design-wise, the OPPO Find N adopts an inward-folding design which features a 5.49” external display that comes with a more user-friendly 18:9 aspect ratio which not only offers users a more familiar mobile experience, but also makes it easier for single-handed use. The display utilizes an AMOLED panel with FHD+ screen resolution and a layer of Gorilla Glass Victus for extra durability.
Unfolding the phone would reveal a 7.1” inner display with a 8.4:9 aspect ratio that allows users to ”unfolds directly into landscape mode so users can watch videos, play games or read books without the extra step of rotating the device.”
For the inner display, it switched to a LTPO AMOLED panel which has a comparatively smoother 120Hz adaptive refresh rate that automatically adapts the refresh rate based on the onscreen contents.
The main highlight of it’s inner display lies in the so-called Flexion Hinge which is developed with 136 components with extreme precision of up to 0.01 mm that ensures the smooth operation of the hinge. Most importantly, it’s unique hinge design results in minimal crease that is up to 80% less noticeable compared with other devices according to TUV.
In the imaging department, the OPPO Find N also packs a capable triple-cam system lead by a 50 MP Sony IMX766 main camera along with a 16 megapixels ultra-wide camera and a 13 megapixels telephoto camera that supports 2x optical zoom. For selfie, there’s also a 32 megapixels camera on both it’s outer and inner displays.
Under the hood, the OPPO Find N is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 chipset alongside 12GB LPDDR5 RAM and 512GB UFS 3.1 flash storage in the memory department. Similarly, it’ll also be backed by a respectable 4,500mAh battery which carries support for 33W SuperVOOC fast-wired charging and 15W AirVOOC wireless charging.
In the Chinese market, the OPPO Find N is priced at 7,699 Yuan (US$1,210) and 8,999 Yuan (US$1,410) respectively for it’s 8GB+256GB and 12GB+512GB trims. While this is certainly one of OPPO’s most exciting smartphone till date, the company apparently has no intention to launch it in the global market.
