Early rumors had claimed that Oppo is working on Oppo R13 and R13 Plus as successor phones for R11s and R11s Plus. Fresh information reveals that since the number 13 is considered taboo in many countries, the Chinese manufacturer has decided to launch its next-generation R series phones as Oppo R15 and R15 Plus. Leaked renders of the alleged Oppo R15 has also surfaced on Weibo.
As it can be seen in the new renders, the Oppo R15 sports a full screen design with a notch like the iPhone X. Oppo had filed a patent for a display design that appeared quite similar to the iPhone X in January
The renders show that the rear side of the handset in multiple colors. The camera ring and the company’s branding is in gold. Moreover, instead of the vertical dual cameras found on the iPhone X, the Oppo R15 is expected to feature horizontally aligned dual cameras.
The Snapdragon 660 chipset was first seen on the Oppo R11 and R11 Plus smartphones that were launched in June last year. Hence it is speculated that the Oppo R15 and R15 Plus may launch in June this year. The Oppo R15 duo could be the first phones to feature Snapdragon 670 chipset.
