OPPO is reportedly working on the Reno 9 series of smartphones. Like the predecessor Reno 8 family, the lineup may comprise of the Reno 9, Reno 9 Pro, and Reno 9 Pro+ handset. A new leak by Digital Chat Station has revealed the processor and camera details of what appears to be the Reno 9 Pro and the Reno 9 Pro+ handsets.
The Reno 8, 8 Pro, and 8 Pro+ were powered by the Dimensity 1300, Snapdragon 7 Gen 1, and Dimensity 8100 chipsets, respectively. The tipster had previously claimed that OPPO would be using the older Snapdragon 778G instead of the SD7G1 on the Reno 9 series. Hence, it is being said that the Reno 9 Pro could be equipped with the Snapdragon 778G chipset.
The tipster claimed that the Snapdragon 778G-powered model would be equipped with a 64-megapixel main camera. The higher model in the family, which appears to be the Reno 9 Pro+, will feature the Dimensity 8100 chipset. It will be equipped with a 50-megapixel Sony IMX766 selfie camera. The same chip and camera sensor were made available on the Reno 8 Pro+.
Another tipster has shared retail box images of the Reno 9. The appearance of these images suggests that it may not take too long for it to go official. OPPO is probably working on a November or December launch for the Reno 9 family.
Apart from the OPPO Reno 9 series, the company is also working on the second-generation version of the OPPO Find N foldable phone and a clamshell phone with a foldable screen. Both devices are expected to launch in December with the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor.
