During the launch event of OPPO Reno Ace earlier this month, OPPO had introduced a special Gundam edition of the smartphone to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the famed Gundam series.
Now, pre-order for the OPPO Reno Ace Gundam Edition has finally go live in China, via most major online retailers in China including OPPO’s Official Store, JD.com, Suning and Tmall. According to OPPO, pre-order will only be held on October 21st, October 28th and November 4th. After which, the device will go on sale starting November 11th.
Those who pre-orders the device will have to make an upfront payment of 100 Yuan (US$14). Sad to say, only a limited quantity of 30,000 units will be available for purchase. As of now, there is no news if this special edition smartphone will head to the global market, but it’s likely to be a China-exclusive handset.
Pricing-wise, the OPPO Reno Ace Gundam Edition will command a price tag of 3,599 Yuan (US$509) – slightly more expensive than the regular version with the same 8GB+256GB memory configuration. However, the extra money you pay will bring you a custom designed back panel and matching accessories inspired by Gundam RX-78-2.
