After appearing in the headlines for the past few weeks, the much anticipated OPPO Reno4 series has finally been announced today. As expected, the new OPPO Reno4 series comes in two different flavors which include a vanilla Reno4, as well as another higher-end model known as the Reno4 Pro.
OPPO Reno4
Let’s begin with the more affordable OPPO Reno4. This device arrives with a nice looking dual hole-punch design for its front panel which play host to a pair of selfie cameras consisting of a 32 megapixels main camera and a 2 megapixels depth helper. It will be a 6.4-inches AMOLED display which boasts a FHD+ screen resolution and a standard refresh rate.
What’s interesting is that the OPPO Reno4 has a slim profile of just 7.8mm which makes it one of the thinnest 5G smartphone in the market. It also comes with a feather weight of just 183 grams.
Over on its rear, there will be a triple-cameras setup which is housed within a rectangular camera module alongside a LED flash. Unlike the other OPPO smartphones, the OPPO Reno4 is the first handset from the company which has protruding camera lenses similar to what we see among the iPhones. These cameras include a 48 megapixels main camera, 8 megapixels ultra-wide lens and a 2 megapixels depth sensor.
Under the hood, the OPPO Reno4 is driven by an octa-core Snapdragon 765G SoC which is assisted by up to 8GB RAM and 256GB onboard storage space. As expected, it is able to support 5G connectivity in both standalone (SA) and non-standalone (NSA) modes.
The OPPO Reno4 will feature a 4,020mAh battery at the helm which carries support for the company’s proprietary 65W SuperVOOC 2.0 fast-charging technology. On the software-side, it will ship with the custom ColorOS 7.2 based on the latest Android 10 OS.
For those who’re interested, the device will be available in three different colorways including Blue, Black and Purple. In terms of pricing, it will be priced at 2,999 Yuan (US$423) and 3,299 Yuan (US$465) respectively for its 8GB+128GB and 8GB+256GB models.
OPPO Reno4 Pro
The OPPO Reno4 Pro on the other hand, has a slightly larger 6.5-inches AMOLED display which maintains a FHD+ screen resolution. However, its front panel is curved along the sides and has a higher 90Hz screen refresh rate which will provide a smoother graphics for its users. Unlike the vanilla model, the Reno4 Pro has a single hole-punch cutout which houses a 32 megapixels selfie camera.
Though it packs a more powerful internals, but the Reno4 Pro is surprisingly even thinner than the vanilla model. According to OPPO, the Reno4 Pro only has a 7.6mm thickness and weigh just 172 grams.
At the back, the OPPO Reno4 Pro has a beefed up triple-cameras system comprising of a 48 megapixels Sony IMX586 main camera with OIS stabilization, 12 megapixels ultra-wide lens, as well as a 13 megapixels telephoto lens. The presence of a dedicated telephoto lens allows the device to achieve up to 5x hybrid zoom and as much as 20x digital zoom.
Moving on, the Reno4 Pro will also be driven by the 5G-enabled Snapdragon 765G SoC under the hood. This will be paired with up to 12GB RAM and 256GB onboard storage in the memory department.
To keep its lights on, the device will be fitted with a 4,000mAh battery with SuperVOOC 2.0 fast-charging support. This time round, the Reno4 Pro will be available in a total of 5 color variants including Black, White, Red, Blue, as well as Green.
In terms of pricing, the OPPO Reno4 Pro will be priced at 3,799 Yuan (US$536) and 4,299 Yuan (US$606) respectively for its 8GB+128GB and 12GB+256GB models.
