Following the launch of the next-generation’s Reno5 series smartphones in the Chinese market, OPPO is now gearing up for its official launch in the global market.
Last week, OPPO Vietnam had already confirmed that the vanilla OPPO Reno5 will be launching in the country on December 30th later this month. Right now, OPPO has also confirmed that the same device will be making its way to Indonesia on January 12th next month.
Since the company didn’t mention anything about the Reno5 Pro, we are likely to see only the vanilla Reno5 during the launch day. Based on the earlier information published, we do know that the upcoming OPPO Reno5 that’s arriving in Vietnam and Indonesia will have some differences from the Reno5 5G which was launched in the Chinese market.
Firstly, the device will be equipped with a slightly toned-down Snapdragon 720G mobile platform instead of the Snapdragon 765G SoC found in the Chinese variant. Therefore, the global variant will be lacking of 5G connectivity as well.
Secondly, it’ll also be coming with the first generation’s 50W SuperVOOC flash charging support instead of the latest 65W SuperVOOC 2.0 charging solution. However, its worth noting that the front-facing selfie camera for the global variant will be upgraded from 32 megapixels to 44 megapixels instead.
Other than that, the rest of the specs remain largely unchanged including the same 90Hz FHD+ AMOLED display, 64MP quad cameras, 4,300mAh battery, as well as the latest ColorOS 11 running out of the box.
