OPPO Reno5 5G might have a Snapdragon 750G variant soon

Although its barely two months since OPPO announced the trio of Reno5, Reno5 Pro (Review), and Reno5 Pro+ devices, but a new rumor out of China has revealed that the company is now working on a new variant of the vanilla Reno5 which will be powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 750G chipset instead of the Snapdragon 765G found on the current model.

The reason for the release of this variant is due to a shortage of Snapdragon 765G chipset according to reputable tipster Digital Chat Station. Furthermore, he also claimed that the rest of the specs will remain unchanged and could be priced slightly lower than the current model.

As a quick recap, the OPPO Reno5 sports a 6.43-inches FHD+ AMOLED display that brings along a smooth 90Hz refresh rate as well as an in-display fingerprint scanner. Unlike the Reno5 Pro which comes with a curved display, the Reno5 4G settles for a flat panel instead.

For photography, it relies on a quad-camera system which features a 64 megapixels (1.7 aperture) primary shooter, 8 megapixels (f/2.2 aperture) ultra-wide lens, 2 megapixels (f/2.4 aperture) macro camera, as well as a 2 megapixels (f/2.4 aperture) depth sensor. This will be rounded out by a 32 megapixels selfie camera upfront.

To keep its lights on, there will be a 4,300mAh battery which carries support for 65W SuperVOOC 2.0 flash charging which is capable of delivering a full charge within 35 minutes.
