OPPO has started teasing the arrival of the OPPO Watch 3 series in China. Today, it confirmed the name of the processor, which will power the Watch 3 lineup. A new leak courtesy of reliable tipster Digital Chat Station has revealed the launch date of the smartwatch.
According to the tipster, the OPPO Watch 3 series will be announced on Aug. 8 in China. The Watch 3 lineup may include multiple models, but their details are not known yet. OPPO is expected to confirm this date in the next few days.
As can be seen in the below poster, OPPO has confirmed that the OPPO Watch 3 series will be equipped with the Snapdragon W5 Gen 1 chipset, which is the latest Qualcomm chip for smartwatches. OPPO is yet to confirm the other features of the Watch 3 lineup.
The Watch 3 is speculated to offer a higher screen-to-body ratio than its predecessor. It may come with some other features, such as eSIM support and ColorOS. Hopefully, forthcoming reports will spill more information about the Watch 3 series.
In related news, OPPO is reportedly gearing up to launch multiple products in China. The company is expected to release its first clamshell phone with a foldable screen in the coming months. It is also expected to launch the Find N2 foldable smartphone. The OPPO Band 2 is the other wearable device from OPPO that is said to be in the works.
