Back in December 2024, the rumour mill speculated that Oppo may be working on a compact flagship tablet, but it never launched. Tipster Digital Chat Station claimed in July that Oppo and OnePlus are both working on an 8.8-inch tablet. A new report by the same source has revealed the chipset that would power the said device.
Oppo’s 8.8-inch tablet details tipped
As can be seen above, the upcoming Oppo tablet with an 8.8-inch display will feature an OLED panel. Under the hood, the device will feature the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset.
Unfortunately, the tipster did not share anything else about the device. Likely, there could be a rebranded OnePlus variant.
The tipster previously claimed that the said tablet may debut alongside Oppo’s next compact flagship phone. Rumours are rife that the company may unveil the Find X9s by early Q2 2026 in China. Therefore, it’s likely that the compact tablet, whose final marketing name is under wraps, may debut with the Find X9s.
According to reports, the Oppo Find X9s will arrive with a 6.31-inch LTPS OLED panel that offers a 1.5K resolution. It is said to be powered by the Dimensity 9500 Plus chipset and a battery of around 7,000mAh capacity with wireless charging support. For photography, it will have a 50-megapixel Sony IMX9-series main snapper, a 50-megapixel ultra-wide lens, and a 50-megapixel periscope camera.
The Find X9s launch event is also expected to see the arrival of other phones, such as the Find X9s+ and Find X9 Ultra, along with the rumoured compact tablet.
