POCO F3 GT could be launched in early August

POCO had kind of confirmed on the existence of the POCO F3 GT gaming smartphone through a couple of teasers recently, even though the official launch date of the phone is still under the wraps.

Things however, seem to have changed a little as we now have a reliable time frame for the launch courtesy of our friends over at 91Mobiles who revealed that the POCO F3 GT is likely to debut during the first ten days of August.

Although the phone is marketed under the POCO branding, but the upcoming POCO F3 GT is essentially a rebranded model of the Redmi K40 Gaming Edition that was recently announced in the Chinese market.

As a quick recap, the Redmi K40 Gaming Edition features a 6.67” AMOLED display that offers a FHD+ screen resolution that’s topped with a buttery-smooth 120Hz refresh rate and 360Hz touch sampling rate.

Under the hood, the Redmi K40 Gaming Edition is powered by an octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 1200 chipset which will be paired with up to 12GB RAM and 256GB onboard storage.

For a smooth and consistent performance, the phone is also equipped with a dedicated “LiquidCool” vapour chamber technology to keep the phone’s temperature down during intense gaming runs.

In the camera department, the Redmi K40 Gaming Edition relies on a triple-camera system at the back which is lead by a 64 megapixels main camera, 8 megapixels ultra-wide camera, as well as a 2 megapixels macro camera. This will be accompanied by a 16 megapixels shooter upfront for selfie and video-calling purposes.

The device draws power from a massive 5,065mAh battery which carries support for 67W fast-charging that’s capable of delivering a full charge from 0 to 100% within a short span of just 42 minutes.
