Back in April, POCO announced a gaming-centric smartphone known as the POCO F4 GT. Fast forward two months, the company has now confirmed that it will soon be launching a brand new F series smartphone known as the POCO F4 5G.
While POCO has yet to reveal it’s official launch date, but it went ahead to reveal a crucial piece detail pertaining to it’s hardware specs – the presence of an octa-core Snapdragon 870 chipset under the hood which will place the phone in the same category as some recent models such as the Realme GT Neo 3T.
Based on past reports, the POCO F4 5G is likely to arrive as a rebranded model of the Redmi K40S which was previously announced in the Chinese market. However, it’s expected to feature some subtle changes such as the adoption of a higher-res 64MP main camera over the 48MP camera used in the K40S.
Other than that, most of the other specs should remain largely unchanged. As such, we can expect the phone to sport a 6.67” FHD+ AMOLED display with 120Hz refresh rate, 20MP front-facing camera, 4,500mAh battery, as well as 67W fast-charging support.
