Following the success of this year’s POCO M3 Pro 5G, POCO is now back with the brand new POCO M4 Pro that aims to ”deliver the best in-class video watching and gaming experience, while offering more bang for the buck”.
As expected, the new model brought along a bunch of new upgrades across several fronts including a larger LCD display which now measures 6.6” diagonally. Although it retains the same FHD+ screen resolution and 90Hz refresh rate, but POCO has bumped up it’s touch sampling rate to 240Hz and peak brightness to 450 nits on the POCO M4 Pro 5G.
At the back, the POCO M4 Pro 5G continues to adopt a dual-tone design – a feature that was popularized by it’s predecessor. This time round, it made a switch from a triple-cam to a dual-cam setup. Despite that, it’s still considered an upgrade if you look at the bigger picture.
That’s primarily because POCO has equipped the POCO M4 Pro 5G with an improved 50MP wide camera, which will be aided by an 8MP ultra-wide lens. What had been axed on the device is actually a pair of 2MP cameras that we hardly use due to it’s mediocre performance.
Under the hood, the POCO M4 Pro 5G is backed by a new octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 810 which offers better CPU and GPU performance over the Dimensity 700 chip that was used in the POCO M3 Pro 5G. This will be paired with up to 6GB RAM and 128GB built-in storage which can be further expanded via a microSD card.
To keep it’s lights on, the POCO M4 Pro 5G retains the same 5,000mAh battery which supports a comparative faster 33W fast-charging solution which is capable of charging the phone from 0 to 100% in just 59 minutes.
Aside from that, other noteworthy features also include the presence of a stereo speakers, 3.5mm headphone jack, side-mounted fingerprint scanner as well as NFC connectivity (in select countries).
For those who’re interested, the POCO M4 Pro 5G is available in a trio of colors namely POCO Yellow, Power Black and Cool Blue. The device will be priced at S$299 and S$349 respectively for it’s 4GB+64GB and 6GB+128GB variants in Singapore.
