In the first half of the year, POCO launched ‘6’ series smartphones, such as the POCO C50, C51, M5, X5, X5 Pro, and F5 in the Indian market. POCO India’s country head, Himanshu Tandon, said that it is time to move to the ‘6’ series. It appears that the POCO M6 Pro 5G could be the first ‘6’ series POCO to debut in the Indian market.
The reason for it is that India’s BIS authority has approved a POCO phone with model number 23076PC4BI. According to a previous tweet by tipster Kacper Skrzypek, the 23076PC4BI will debut in the Indian market with the POCO M6 Pro 5G.
Now that the device has received BIS certification, it appears that it will not take too long for the smartphone to go official. A variant of the phone with the Redmi 12 5G branding is also expected to release in India. The Redmi 12 5G, which has the 23076RN4BI model number, has also been approved by the BIS authority.
While the Redmi 12 5G is expected to launch in the global market, there is no word on whether the POCO M6 Pro 5G will be released in markets outside of India. According to Skrzypek, the Redmi 12 5G and POCO M6 Pro 5G will be rebranded versions of the Redmi Note 12R 5G, which was announced in June in China.

The Redmi Note 12R features a sizable 6.79-inch IPS LCD FHD+ display with a 90Hz refresh rate and an aspect ratio of 20.5:9. For security measures, a side-mounted fingerprint sensor is included in the phone.
Under the hood, the smartphone features the Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 chip and offers memory configurations of up to 8GB RAM and up to 256GB of internal storage. Keeping the device running is a substantial 5,000mAh battery with 18W fast charging support.
On the front, the Redmi Note 12R is equipped with a 5-megapixel camera for selfies, while the rear camera setup consists of a 50-megapixel main lens and a 2-megapixel macro lens. The Redmi Note 12R runs on Android 13, customized with the MUI 14 interface.
