Xiaomi’s new flagship series is expected to include three devices such as Xiaomi 12, Xiaomi 12 Pro, and Xiaomi 12 Ultra. According to a report by Xiaomiui.net, there could be another variant of the Ultra model with an in-display camera. This phone is likely to debut in the market with the Xiaomi 12 Ultra Enhanced Edition moniker.
The publication has come across codenames like Loki and Thor in the Mi code. These devices are found to be built on the same ROM and source, which indicates that the two devices could be packed with identical specs.
The Loki variant’s model number is L1A and is likely to release as the Xiaomi 12 Ultra. On the other hand, the Thor variant’s model number is L1, it could be debuting in the market with the Xiaomi 12 Ultra Enhanced Edition.
The latter is expected to arrive with an in-display camera. Hence, there is a possibility that this device may release with the Xiaomi MIX 5 moniker, and not as a 12 Ultra series model.
Coming to the specs, the report reveals that the Snapdragon 8 Gen1, which is said to be Qualcomm’s upcoming flagship chip, will be powering the Xiaomi 12 Ultra and 12 Ultra Enhanced Edition. The Multicamera mode screenshot (shown above) that the publication shared confirms that the duo has as many as five cameras including a front-facing camera.
The rear camera setup of the 12 Ultra and 12 Ultra Enhanced Edition may feature a 50-megapixel Samsung GN1 primary camera, a 48-megapixel camera with 2x zoom, a 48-megapixel 5x zoom, and one more 48-megapixel camera with 10x zoom. Both phones are likely to offer 120x zoom and 15x video zoom.
Xiaomi is expected to announce the 12 Ultra in Q2 2022. The report claims that the 12 Ultra models could be exclusive to the Chinese market.
