According to a fresh report by Digitimes, Qualcomm will be partnering with Taiwanese tech giant ASUS for the development of the upcoming Qualcomm-branded gaming smartphone.
Although there isn’t any specific date for the official launch, but the reported noted that the device could be launched “at the end of 2020 at the earliest”.
Since Qualcomm will soon be launching the next-generation’s Snapdragon 875 chipset during the upcoming Snapdragon Tech Summit on December 1st, there is a huge likelihood that the Qualcomm-branded gaming smartphone will be powered by the latest in-house processor.
If Qualcomm is indeed launching their own gaming smartphones, then their partnership with ASUS wouldn’t be much of a surprise given the Taiwanese tech giant’s deep insights and experience in developing gaming devices.
Most recently, ASUS had launched the all-new ROG Phone 3 (Review) gaming flagship phone which has proven to be a huge success. The device is among the first in the world to feature the Snapdragon 865+ chipset and comes with loads of software optimizations that promises unapparelled gaming experience for its users.
Needless to say, the launch of a Qualcomm-branded gaming phone will make the gaming smartphone segment more competitive than ever – and that’s a good thing for consumers like us.
